For her efforts, Otremba was named to the WCHA All-Rookie team and was the league's Rookie of the Month in January and was a three-time Rookie of the Week selection. Last year she finished with 20 points on eight goals and 12 assists while recording three game winning goals, which was tied for the team lead. This past season, Nelson led the Mavericks with points (26) and assists (21) and finished the season with five goals.Ī sophomore from Lakeville, Minn., Otremba played in all 36 games during her maiden season as a Maverick. As a freshman during the 2020-21 season, Nelson was named the WCHA Rookie of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to earn the award.
